I have been practicing my ground work i am getting slightly better and things are starting to come together with the 502nd pit stop i'll post more pics in the forum as things change and the ground work gets better.
This started of as two old dvd cases glued together with a hole cut out for the pond,Clay then laid over the top and molded to make the pond, both grass matt and static grass added, once dried both the reads and flowers were added once the pond was painted and the weathering done.Just adding the water now little by little giving it time to set and clear before adding the next lair.

This is the latest from the 502nd pit stop,(sorry about the photo quality) the ground work is improving,But there is still loads to do from weathering the vehicles and figures to finishing of the front right corner and the middle were the command tank 1 is sat.But getting there slowly, some of the troops need a new face as looking at them though the camera lenze i have noticed some have a look of shock and there eyes are still way to big.
I have added static grass, reads, and flowers trying to give it that start of summer look before all the grass ends up burnt and dead.
The pond section made from 2 old DVD cases and some modeling clay.
The farm yard section done from stacked card board and a mini art dio.
You can see in the bottom of this photo the section that still needs to be done
Raised road section made with stacked card board and cat litter.
The mountain escarpment is simply 2 cat food boxs and modeling clay
Any feed back of advise on were i am going wrong here would be good thanks for looking.

Hi andrew, i think the story line is great, however after viewing your model dio i can see a couple of areas where there could be some minor improvement, such as layout, it seems to busy for the space, the pond " is it a pond, puddle or swamp". the other thing people tend to forget is realism, all these vehicles have weight to them, thus causing the ground to get torn up. And the only other thing i would mention is the painting, to glossy. if you ever get a chance to look at the uniforms or the paint scheme of the vehicles they are must drab colors, even the civilians there clothes were also drab or flat in coloration.
but overall it is a good start on a great story line for your dio. keep up the good work

You have put a lot of effort in this diorama. I like the atmosphere. And it is colorful. There's much to see, great ! G.

Thanks for the feed back guys, William the funny thing is when you look at it with your naked eye it is all drab no gloss paint or varnish, but soon as i take a photo with the old naff camera they come out shinny,i don't know were i am going wrong with the photos at all. The ground work is getting better i think compared to what it as been as i learn new stuff. and manage to get my hands on products to use.
Thanks for looking and the feed back.
