I'm putting the finishing touches to my Hobby Fan M936 recovery truck, I was wondering what could I tow with it, I know there are many opitions to choose from, but I'm not sure what I should use. I have the TM on the M936 that shows how to hook everthing up. Just trying to figure out what to hook up to it
Thanks

A 5ton wrecker will basically tow anything smaller. It is designed to tow light wheeled vehicles such as other 5 tons, 2 1/2 tons, Jeeps, Hummers and the like. They can also tow light armored vehicles like the plain Jane M113A2/3. Any different version and the turret adds too much weight (ITV, FIST-V, Vulcan). Not recommended for hiway (high speeds) use.

Thanks sabot! the M113 would be a great idea and would give me a good resion to display the engine compartment opened, just do a "broken down M113" dio, Call it the army's AAA.
Now just need to convice the judes at the shows that the truck can pull a M-113
Thanks

Heck we used the M984E1 HEMTT wrecker to tow 2 M113s like a little train. And we call the thing a "wrecker", i.e. HEMTT wreker, 5 ton wrecker...(although the wrecker's capacity is about 20 tons, we call it a 5 ton wrecker because that is the type chassis it is on)
I'll check the -10 or my BDAR books to see if I can shoot you some references where it is used to tow M113s in the field (like at NTC).
