Ola People.
I`m working on the T34/85 from DML. It`s a tank that is driving into Berlin and I want it to be the green that the russian tanks were painted in. No my question is What type of green did they use and what is the most matching Humbrol color. I don`t doubt that it`s already posted but I couldn`t find any information bout it in a forum search.
If somebody could help me out.

Faust, use "Matt Russian Green" #114. You can go HERE for some suggestions on what colors from Humbrol and some cool camo ideas.

And Faust don't forget the white band around the turret and the white cross on top. This was an allied air recognition symbol for allied planes. The lines were quite thick on some tanks.
Hope this helps you.

Unfortunately, Humbrol 114 has been discontinued (I also heard it was an air force shade anyway). There seems to be no "hard and fast" shade for Russian armour, so just pick a dark green that looks satisfactory to you. For Russian tanks I've used 116 (actually an USAF shade) in the past, which I felt looked good.

I think at that time the Russians were probably using various shades of dark and olive green. Production was in a hurry in those days.

Hi Faust:
I built one T34/76 Chtz (Tamiya) and I used Russian Green from Vallejo Model Air. It matches very well. The Humbrol color for this is 116.

Try Gunze's Mr. Color Russian Green2 (forgot the bottle number). Same color I used in my Sa-9 Gaskin. Really for WW2 subjects - as the bottle says.
Then again, as mentioned already, there is no hard and fast rule. So, if it looks right, then it is right.
