Well here is the start of my M113A2. This particular model is going to have the Tri-color camo, as I ended up ordering the Academy kit to do in MERDC(mainly for the interior) While this is going to be mostly closed up. Have started filling holes aand such and have also add sprocket attachments for the Modelkasten set I'll be using. Eduard PE will be added in the next couple of days. any additional help is greatly appreciated.

I did add the second shock absorber using the tamiya piece just hard to see in the photos, and it being behind the the road wheels. More PE will be added today.

dear shneebert, great start!! i need to ask two things. are you using a tam or acad hull, and, am i behind the times or is there something screwie about the acad hull as far as the roadarm mounting bosses are concern'd. i mean, we all know that 113s have torsion bar suspensions and that means, one side is further forward (rearward- realitive R/L side) than the other, right. i just realiz'd this and wasn't looking. i got a 15 vehicle project start'd and it is heavily based on the acad's. man, do i have a allot work on my hands! best of luck, michael

Based on this pic, I would say it is a Tamiya hull.
Really though, you can't see the bottom of the hull once it is built up to tell that the torsion bars are not staggered. Its not that big of an issue.

Wait a minute,
When did Shneezbert change his name to HeavyArty. I don't think phanthomred4 asked you
the question and I don't think this site is called HeavyArty's personal site. People are getting
tired of every time a question is asked you have to stick your nose in it. I know you have a lot of knowledge but there are a lot of other folks out there w/ just as knowledge as you and you did not and have run the entire US Army by yourself. AIRBORNE!!!

wow, all Gino did was add his knowledge to an open discussion forum. That is what makes Armorama such a great place to visit, everyone is free to comment!

Hi Joey,
only 20 posts from you and already fed up with Gino's ! That's a kind of record.
Please don't take it personnally but anybody here is allowed to post answers to any post unless I missed something in the site rules.
As a non native English speaker, I have used wrong words, made me unclear and been mistaken about explanations given by others but I've always appreciated people here for their kindness and patience.
Shneezbert, nice start with your homemade parts. Keep on posting.

jeeze, all i did is ask a couple a questions and made a point. if you have a manu. perf. great , i don't, i build/ collect any 1/35 113 i get my paws on. at present, i have 1 tam(#mm040-35040) 2 acad A2's (1354), 1acad M-163 (1360), 1 afv ypr (35016), 1afv mrv (35023), 1Ital A1 (276), and 1ital m163, (269), slam any ital, i'll point out it has the external fire box ,better road arm shock detail, pads on troop seats ( very big to me, cause on active duty, after a long recon, wet and cold, those where a god-send. the tam kit is the pinnicle, should be revered! all stink because none of the A2s and have a supercharger ( gear-shaft driven, not belt)for the engine,A3 have an 6(8?) w/ a manifold mount'd turbo and a tank style trans axle (neutral steer ability). does details (certain) matter and other don't? get a grip , we will persue any aspect to the NTH' degree, it all matters!!!!! last note ,i'm panel jobbing 6 variants (complete hulls) out of evergreen sheet (40-60) measurements are an average of all 3 hulls(acad, revell/ital,tam) . the jig is about done, this includes the road wheels! good hunting, best regards,phantomred4 out!

Joey we all have bad days and Gino did not deserve that comment from you. He was only trying to help and pass along information that Gilbert may find use for.

I am not trying to be disrespectful to Gino, but as I said every time someone ask a question or post a kit they did, it is like they have get his permission. When some folks post something they think they can have to start their post with Gino. I know I'm not the only one that feels this way and yes I don't post must but we all learn here but there is more individuals here that know something. Like I said before alot of us have a lot military experience and have been down range with knowledge. So again no disrespect to Gino but
let someone else respond.

No one is keeping you from responding, go right ahead. I can't help it if I happen to be the first to respond or if people ask me questions directly. It is an open forum. If you have info to give on a subject, please give it. We could all benefit from your knowledge as well. There are many who have military service here and I have learned a lot from them as well since none of us have had the exact same experiences..

Hey Gino's entitled to his say. Well on to the build, I haven't been feeling good so I had to quite for a few weeks, But have gotten back on the beast the last few days. Did add some Eduard PE, and will be using Modelkasten tracks. I am using the Tamiya hull and scratchbuilding some things here and there.

This is great , a great modelling subject ( looks good by the way ) and a great argument .
Do not let it spoil the modelling though.
Gino's reply had some good old English irony , I laughed , is he drinking too much tea ?
