hello!

have been on with my newly aquired kubel... i plan on freezing all the working features and having it prety much buttoned up.

here is the engine ( i know it's the wrong version but it will only be visible up through the wheel arches )

added some bolt heads and the HT lead support tube thing ? ontop of the air system and have added some straps.

:)

i'm planning on a couple of figures for this, will have to sculpt the bodies as i'm unaware of any seated figures for it

i took the Kubel outside onto a bit of decking by my back door this morning and took this shot

it really is huge!

you will be able to see the extra detail i added to the front sub-frame, mostly bolts and such, on the front of the swinging arms i added the cast detail and washes bolts etc with a stack of discs made with a punch and die and used some humbrol putty to build up the cast part

not visible are the line of bolt heads to hold the wings on and the gubbins in the wheel arches...

Excellent, Markab!!

I like Kubels and planning on getting one of the bigs ones as well (Tamiya's maybe).

Question, what did you use to prime the engine and the body of the Kubel? Looks nice!!

started to put some colour down as place markers for the weathering stage.....

a word of warning if anyone has one of these in stash and you decide to build it...

as mentioned elsewhere on the net, the plastic in this kit does not glue well! i have lost 3 parts which i had glued securly to the chasis.... i have started washing both surfaces to join with liquid poly to try and weld joints..........

i have found 2 of them and i think the hoover got the 3rd.... Blast!
