The only one thing I can tell you is that there's some reason (uknown to me yet) that makes me absolutely incompatible with spray cans...

Hi Ave

I've never used Tamiya sprays, but two things come to mind:

1. Did you shake the can thoroughly? Unmixed paint can look patchy - the pigments can separate into different colours.

2. Did you wash the model before painting? Mould-release agent or some other contaminent might cause problems. It's always a good idea to give the parts a wash in detergent while they're still on the sprues. Some people also give the kit a quick once over with isopropyl alchohol before painting to get rid of the oil from their fingers.

You can probably suss out if either of the above are what's going on by spraying some tests on clean plastic card.

Hope this helps

All the best

I re read your post again and again.....by "can" do you mean a spray can...or a jar of tamiya paint...if you mean a jar of paint....there are a couple of things happening

1. you aren't mixing it well enough....that's why it's turning brown
2. you're shaking it instead of stirring it....causes bubbles
3. you're brushing it on too agressively....also causes bubbles

I use long straight sections of sprue from my old model kits to stir the paint and I stir it for a long time....making sure to get into the corners at the bottom....and I stir a little bit after a few minutes of painting.
Good luck
