People have been asking for undamaged buildings so here is the first in a new series. Eventually there will be a whole block of stores/apartments than can be connected together to create a large diorama.

This 1/35 Scale kit features finely detailed cast hydrocal plaster walls, laser cut wood windows, door & shutters, laser cut glass and roof shingles, cast brick sidewalks, full color signs and awning and full color, easy to understand assembly, painting and aging instructions.

The footprint including the sidewalks is 8" x 9" x 11" tall. Basic assembly is snap, as you should be able to have the castings glued together & ready to paint in about 15 minutes.

DP15 retails for $49.95. Figures & base not included. Dealer/distributor inquiries invited.

As always, I welcome questions or comments.

How would the shutters have closed with the bar support for the canopy in the position it is at present?

Hello there,
this building looks good, but there's a mistake on one of your sign :

in french, that's CROISSANTS not CROSSAINTS.

Good question! : ). Sometimes it's the minor details that escape me. Will slightly revise.

Looks the part. If you want an Northern France urban bakery, that is.
Bar the spelling, the fonts used are way too "modern", too, and are rendered with strange computer generated deformations no sign-painter would have done then.

exactly you're right, vittulu.
that's what hurt me first as a graphic designer. never a font would have been deformed like that.
If you want I can give you some exemple of 40's commercial fonts.

Cheers,
Alexandre.

The building looks good but I find that the shingles ,wood or slate, seem to be on the large side. I have torn off many slate and shake roofs and wouldn't want to carry those up a ladder. As far as the spelling, maybe they're holy crossaints . Anyway, a little bit of gizmology, and a nice peice. The canopy support did seem weird from the photo.

Hi Randy, this seems a realy nice building. One thing that does appeal to me is it is not bombed out. so many possibilities, great stuff.

Thanks, glad you like it. The shingles are 2' (scale) across. To do the pilot over I probably would have had them overlap more. Cheers!

Hi Randy,

I like the concept of complete buildings, what woudl be important to me would be that things like the doors and windows could be modeled open or closed and that you could if you wished the exploit the space inside.

OK guys. I fixed the spelling on the sign, the awning supports and added chimneys. Like I said, this is just the first part of a whole block that will tie together side by side. Thanks for the input.

hello, I been reading the posts here on this dio, I would suggest delete the big text on the front wall, the Pattiseries,Pains,Croissant,..Put the family name of the bakery above the door, and put a frame with glass next to the door at eye level, in witch there are local "advertisments, like I sell my bike, or a paper of the locals to say there is a town gathering ect ect, also maybe lower the canopy, I remember my "big" uncle (2.11 m! )
always ran into those things when we were on holliday in France

and maybe adding some flowerpots to the side window frames would be nice, the kind tha t hangs in Iron baskets out of windows

Don't be ashamed of your building, even with a little fopaw every here and there. It looks great and you know a lot of folks can't do nearly as well, but I guess constructive comments can be helpful as long as they are not mean spirited. Nice job.
