I was wanting reccomendations on the best step by step 1/35th figure painting book covering building all the way throught painting and finishing washes etc. If I could only buy one book which one should I get and where?

I would recommend:
Modelling WW2 figures (Osprey Modelling Series) or
Modelling Scale Figures (Ospery Modelling)
Both are available for a reasonable price on eBay or Amazon.
Generally very good instruction manuals covering most topics.
