Hi Guys,
A little build of progress, added the engine, pedals and supports and married up the sub-frame and chassis. Added the read panel for the radio version.
resin bonnet
converted kit bonnet for future project
Underside
Things still to do
I think the seats and grab handles are about the only remaining kit parts to add.

Al,
The jeep is looking good. The modifications you are making are turning out nicely.

Hi Tony,
Thanks, I'm hoping that I shall have enough parts left over with a few original kit modifications to add another lol, lol. Also Tony R asked about converting one, so I thought I'd try and convert a few parts as I go.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I added one of the hooded lights into the LHS, the RHS light will be blanked by a plate and asdded a littel colour to the engine. The engine is a nice item in the jeeps and doing one with the bonnet open might be interesting, It looks to just need some plumbing added for effect and a horne which I added here for an experiment.
I shall have to look at some pics of how it was raised/supported, and whether or not there was a bonnet rod to hold it open.

Hey Al,
Hadn't dropped by to see your build for a few days but everything looks great.
Now here's a dumb question..... If you paint everything by hand and then glue the parts, do you use regular glue or CA
Cheers

Hi John,
I tend to build in sub sections, so I'll glue the parts and then paint them, Where I need to add a part on top I'll just scrape away a little paint to get a good bond. Hymbrol for plastic to plastic and CA for resin to plastic or resin to resin.
Cheers

Hi Tony,
Won't be seen but it's good practice. Do you know if the bonnet was supported by a rod? I can't recall seeing how it was propped open or the underside. Just planning for the future.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
A bit more work. Two steps forward and one step back
Added the seating, it's optional whether or not you add the back seat support. Started work on the battery boxes and stores/rifles etc. The bundle on the bonnet is a spare piece of stowage from the carrier builds.
The scratches on the bonnet show wheer I fixed the decals and then realised I hadn't fixed the bonnet catches which meant the decals were too close to the front so off they came
Quite a lot of work left to do, all small stuff, plumbing on the radio, stores and supplies, and I shall try and see if I came fit the metal protection bracks often seen on the radios .

Al,
You going to fit all that stuff in one jeep? WOW! Like how you painted boxes.

Hi Tony,
You effectively get a set of the UK Small Ammo Boxes with the conversion, more than you need, so just load up as necessary.
I did a review on the boxes a while ago - Link below:
https://armorama.kitmaker.net/review/3750
They make nice additional items, just need to add some handles/rope.

Hey Al,
That's still quite a bit of stuff to stow on two Jeeps !!!
Was a bit surprised to see that you leave the casting blocks on when you paint your subsections.
I usually cut the part free of the block, drill a hole and insert a piece of thin wire when I work with resin parts.
I find I have to do less touch ups.
Looking forward to the finished build.
Cheers

Hi John,
I usually cut them off too but as I wanted to do them all in one go it was quicker. What's on is only a base coat as I need to add some handles so they will all get repainted anyway. I'll only need 2 or 3 boxes as the jeep has a crew of 3 plus a set of webbing and a box of scoff.
Lots of useful stuff for the spares box.

Hi Guys,
A bit more,
Added the wheels and the positionable steering, re-did the WD number and added the bonnet catches. Also added the battery boxes and plumbed in the radio, more to do there. Added the 2 small brackets to the front gril and started some cable drums that will be attached to the vehicle.
With a crew of 3 this will be a pretty full vehicle, also need to add some ammo boxes, webbing and a couple fo weapons.
One thing you don't seem to get with the Resicast radios is a signals satchel so I will need to add one of those as well.

Really nice work Alan, how do you think Resicast's figures size up to other brands?

Hi Martin,
Thanks, these are fun. Re the figures, detail and quality wise they are brillient. SIze wise they tend to be a little smaller and slight of build. That said people come in all shapes and sizes. I did a comparison with some MB paras, home made jobs and Tamiya figures and they fit well I think.
Left to Right
RC, MB, RC, MB, RC
Letf to Right
Front Row
RC, MB, RC, MB, MB, RC
Rear Row
Conversions of the MB Paras, in various heights.
Hope that helps. As long as you use the same size weapons and equipment then height difference doesn't matter much. I used Tamiya equipment for all the MB troops as their equipment is much too big.
Right folks back to the jeep. Wireless installed, plumbed and painted.

Al,
Thanks for the link to your review of the boxes.
The jeep and the soldiers turned out very nicely. Like the amount of detail you added. Congrats on yet another great job.

Hi Tony,
Thanks, still aways to go yet. I'm adding wire to the cable reels at the moment, have the front tools to fix on and some persomal kit and weapons to do. Then I need to re-paint the tyres and finish off the paint work and drop in a few extra stores.
These are fun to work with though, but some of the PE is tiny. If I decide to add Divisional signs I'll have to make some plates for them to sit on. Another week shoudl finish it off.
Cheers

Hi Tony,
There is always something else
I was studying some pics from Market Garden and there are some interesting possibilities for the next one.
Fitted the crew this evening, so it's getting there.

Many thanks for you're kind comments. Lacking a little dust perhaps, but that will come when I add it to the dio.
