I bought some kits from a fellow off craigslist, and found a kit by Dragon labelled "Canadian infantry NW Europe (The Algonquin Regiment). It is kit 6055X. How come they don't label it as Canadians any more? The kit is the same (I think) As the Commonwealth figure set. Just Curious.

Calling them "commonwealth troops" makes them attractive to all sorts of people looking for Brits, Canadians etc. Sell more kits that way. That would be my guess anyway.

I wonder if it's not a marketing issue...labelling it Canadians just for Canada.
Bought that exact same kit while living in Canada (with the "x" after the number), never saw it again here in Switzerland...

At one time not so long ago, Dragon maintained a Distribution facility in Canada. This particular figure set was the first "British" set that they produced and was designed so it could represent a number of the Commonwealth countries. It was a natural progression for the set to be marketed as "Canadian", specifically for the Canadian distributor.
