I've just gotten the Dragon Panther D, Kursk offensive kit, number DML-6164 to be specific. I wanted to get a PE set for it. I see that the only set listed for the D says it's for the Tamiya kit. Is anyone familiar enough with either of these to know if they will work together? Any help would be most appreciated.

First of all, Tamiya doesn't make a Panther Ausf. D so you must have read something wrong. Try looking for this: Panther Ausf D Photoetch Details for DML Kit. by Eduard: -#35505. They also make PE for the DML Ausf. A and all the Tamiya Ausf. G kits.

For the DML Panther D, I can also recommend the Trakz Photoetch set. It's a very nice set, it's made out of copper, so it's MUCH easier to work with and it's only $20!

While I have not used the Trakz set, I have used other Trakz P/E sets and been very pleased with the results.

And there is also the Part Photoetch sets for the Panther D... these sets are equal to anything Aber has ever produced and usually slightly lower in price.

I do have the all of the sets, so let me know if you want more details.

Tim;

Are the Trakz sets the ones with the almost 3-D interweave effect on the screens?

The screens are "woven"... those parts are in brass and nicely done... they do come in a separate set from the rest of the stuff.

Hey PH, I stand corrected, the set I was referring to is for the Italeri Ausf. D. Sorry for the mixup.
