Hi there
Sorry if I'm being stupid but how do you make a "clickable" link in a post?
I went to a website and copied the shortcut - which made a clickable link in a dummy e-mail, but when I pasted the same thing into a post, it appeared as plain text.
What am I doing wrong? (I'm a bit of an internet newbie!)
Cheers
Rowan

In order to make the link "clickable" you need to add the bbcode to the address of the link you want to add.
This goes on the end of the URL:[/url]
This goes in front of the URL: [url]
Make sense?

Thanks Kencelot!
So it's sort of like what we do for pictures? I'll try it...

This is weird. I know that sometimes you can just put in a url without the bb tags and it works. But it seems to be some odd comination of factors.

Rowan, congrats!
Now, if you would like the link to look more "professional" add the equals sign to the bbcode in the front of the URL and the closing bracket at the end of the URL. It will look like this [url="url address"] Insert a name for the link, than add the "closing" bbcode.

Hi Jim
None of those are clickable on my browser...
It's great (but rare!) when a stupid newbie question actually points out something a bit odd...
All the best
