Evolution minatures 1/35 " the officer of special troops GRU,
afghanistan 1984-1989
hey, this is my first figure for the sake of doing a figure, so far i have no groundwork plans , or anything else, i just wanna paint and really improve my skills,
the model is fantastic,
take a look for yourself
i have started the face, i dont know if i want to add amy more as i dont want to ruin it, the eyes are done from an article in fine scale modeller, basing eye in brown, then off white, brown iris and then the pupil, i may add a shine at some point, im going to DB the Moustache aswell to bring out moustache details!
any advice would go down well rastas

Panted eyes rarely look good in 1/35. I have to say, yours looks damned good.

hey, update!!! the gun looks better in real life, and i added a slight red glaze to his cheeks,
the pouches behind the gun and arm need a little work, but luckily they wont be seen much
as you can see the older style packaging isnt great, i ahve heard they are more recently put into boxes, and a great addition is a "Real" not computer, photograph of the finished product, this company screams quallity,
this figure also comes with a small base

Couldn't you use oven cleaner to clean off the primer? I've heard that works.

The new wave of Modern & Afghanistan Soviet figures coming out of the former USSR are really nice and I like your work on this one from Evolution. I was a little put off by the amount of gear this guy is humping, but photos show airmobile Spetsnaz troops being inserted with it. (though I still find it odd that MasterClub's AGS-17 gunner is also loaded down). Good to see that Evolution has another figure (GRU sniper) in the pipline; so I guess if Evolution cranks out a few more there will be a good reason to pick up Trumpeter's Mi-8.

thanks guys!
the barrel is there!! what you talkign about?!
nah in reality it kpt falling off.!
James where did you see this new figure? and the interior of the trumpy Mi8 is grossly underdetailed
sorry for the bad pics.!
the sleepbag is red as the russian army in afghanistan was ridiculously underfunded. and equiptment sent from, or bought from home was not a rare sight.

Nice work so far.
Where did you buy this figure from? I can't find a store that stocks Evolution figures.
Cheers

Artist like Evolution's Traviansky-Menelaev Sergey and Bravo-6's Demchenko Vladimir also have their own Galleries. Other you see were previously released as "Imperium" and should now show themselves as Evolution.
A whole Trumpeter Mi-8 would be too big for me to display! But perhaps a slice of the fuselage would serve nicely as a backdrop?

Fantastic figure!
I've been thinking about getting this figure myself for awhile its a really nice sculpt and its great to see it painted in a blog.
The face in particular is very impressive, what colours did you use for the skin?
