Has anyone tried using Cling Wrap for masking? Some use Parafilm but I can't seem to get a batch hereabouts.

I've used cling film with great results. You use masking tape or liquid mask to seal the edges of the cling wrap. It is most useful when you want to cover large areas, or even the entire plane.

Thanks Mike! Have you tried using it without the masking tape? I have a tank that has to be painted in hard-edged 3-color camo and I thought that patterns will be more easily cut from Cling Wrap instead of masking tape.

That's not exactly how I used it. I used it on an aircraft. I masked off my area then used the cling film to cover the large areas like the wings and tail. Low tack masking tape or frisket paper is what you need. You could also try a combination of masking tape and liquid mask. Tape off your area, then fill in the center with the liquid mask.
