I am just about finished with an out of the box DML Flak 38/103 Jaboschreck and realized I have zero references for this thing.
The box art shows the gun as all dark yellow with a gunmetal barrel. Is the sight black? Are there red greasing points on this thing? Is anything else on the gun or trailer something other than the base color?
The kit comes with a small decal sheet but absolutely zero information about using them. Did any guns actually wear markings like those provided? If so, where? Were kill rings painted on the gunmetal barrel?
Thanks for the help. I already painted, camouflaged, sealed, and washed the thing and would like to finish this week!

Apparently there are no known combat photos of this weapon in action.

I guess I will take a best guess and call it a model.

Thought I'd revive this thread.
There have been a few photos located of these mounted on trucks after being bombed by Jabos very late in the war, so yes, they did see brief combat. (not my photo, but used under fair use)
There is one left, I have it, and it is about to be restored. I was surprised when I uncrated the gun today that the upper surfaces were still oversprayed green and brown.
The problem is, the kit is wrong in many aspects. I will be doing a full walkaround of it as soon as the temperature rises a bit and will post here.
Enjoy!
Jon

Apparently 20 Steyr truck-mounted 3cm Flak 103/38s were issued to the 17th Pz. Div. (Heer) in February 1945 and did see combat (as evidenced by the photo).
