Hello Dimitris. You´ve caught the action well here. Love the slight angle of the landing craft, showing the power of the sea, and also the high waves. Nice one. You should send in some images of these to the site for publishing.

Great diorama...most beautiful water I've ever seen. Why don't you put something up showing or telling how you did it. Beautiful job.

This is such a cool looking diorama with some of the best water effects ive seen, but is let down by some poor figures.
The rest of the scene looks ace but im afraid I just think the figures look bad. You've used some old Tamiya figures, which in my opinion look stiff and have very bad poses. One of the figures in the landing craft also has his M1 helmet on backwards. Your painting of the figures looks fine, its just a shame you choose to use rather hopeless old figures. My suggestion to really improve this dio, would be to loose the crappy tamiya figures, keep the DML ones and maybe add a few higher quality resin figures. As I said the rest of the dio is spot on.

Considering what you are using, the execution is superb. The water is about the best I have seen. However, you should really use better figures. The figures in the tank seem ridiculous - it is evident that the troops are under fire, and these guys seem perfectly calm.
My 2 cents

Hi Dimitris,
Great dio, very well done water and nice action in the infantry figures.
But what type of Sherman is it? It looks like a M4A3E8, but that wasn't available at the time.
Hope to see more of your work,
Peter

The overall dio looks good with some very nice effects and dramatic action going on. I particularly like the water effects but some of the figures do let it down. Also the tank is wrong for Normandy all the tanks landed on American Beaches were M4s or M4A1s, the M4A3 76 you used didn't appear til later in the campaign.

lol well i'm not sure you intended it but it wouldn't be unheard of. Ever seen 'Saving private Ryan'? Some of those guys didn't have a clue what to do wth it. With really nice figures so it was obvious that you intended it to be backwards this could be a really subtle but powerful detail.

Excellent diorama. It is true that this type of Sherman tank was not available at the Normandy landings and some of the figures seems too relaxed for the scene. However, the details of the landing craft and water are simply fantastic.
Great job and good looking diorama. Thanks for sharing

Super action drama and superb execution! As some above, the best D-Day diorama in a long time. Outstanding water, ship weathering, and goundcover/beach. To me,all of that outweighs the tank anachronism and figure dislikes.
Looking at it as if I had no military or modeling knowledge I would have to say,"Wow,that's really nice! cool!"
It's only when we gain a little knowledge is when the nagging negs come out.
When we neg the Tamiya figs,it's mostly because we're bored by seeeing them all these years.
Great job,Dimitris!
Cheers!

Hey Dimitris,
While your diorama has a few historical and technical inaccuracies, the overall impression is impressive.
The water looks excellent and the finish on your Sherman and LST looks good.
But as has already been mentioned, you may want to replace a few of the older Tamiya figures with something of newer vintage and replace the Sherman with an M4 or M4A1 mounting a 75mm cannon.
Cheers
