Hello Steffen. Good to hear from you. Tough times for a new scale that's for sure. Hope Tamiya or AFV club start some more modern subjects. I'm also in the process of moving the model room totally to the back shed. I fear for the fate of the built collection but will try to add space out there. Tank on

Hello Greg

Well i am more into aircraft thingies at the moment, but I sure hope to finish one or another of my old military subjects too. and I have a lot of those.

I like your Plus model Hummer. Where does the spare wheel come from and how does the mount look like. My PM Hummer shall be in an airfield environment, so I do not need to hang lots of stuff from it .. but I need a few tool boxes and things to make it look a bit more busy. Still not fully done:

(IIRC I have already posted it here some years ago ...)

Hope you won't breake too much during the move. I got my aicraft models collection across Germany without major damage .. so your distance should be doable

all the best

Steffen

Nice Humvee there - I hope I can paint mine as well. I've never painted anything modern, so I'm trying to figure out what Vallejo paints will work for camo?

The spare wheels are resin from Propaganda Kompany - you can find them on E-bay or go to his site.

Does your aircraft collection include Blackhawks? I was toying with the idea of a Blackhawk Down diorama also in the future. Is there one you would recommend?

Cheers, Greg

Hi Greg

my collection is very small on choppers. As for the Blackhawk I think Italeri (also reboxed by Revell Germany) did one and you might get the necessary stuff for the conversion/update from Cobra Company (http://www.cobracompany.com/) I only have a Seahawk so I cannot help much but if you have questions regarding the BH down thingie, IIRC someone build it in 1/35 scale in the Heli forum here (not sure if it is at Aeroscale only or on both Aeroscale and Armorama) ... at least you can post some questions there.

Good luck with your projects! I am always keen to see some nice quarterscale stuff ...

all the best

Steffen

Vallejo Russian Green is an exact match for Tamiya NATO green.......if that helps at all.

Hope to see progress on this one!

All figures done except one because I have to make the gun mount next before I position him.

My move out to the backyard shed is complete, so I did some more today.

Love the convoy, I like seeing a large number of vehicles in a diorama.
One thing that jumped out at me is the leg/pant of the driver of the open Humvee looks very 'sharp' and flat. I would add a bit of putty to the bottom of it and round it off just a bit to make it a bit more natural. The first photo in the 8/9 post shows it the most.

Thanks Scott. He's on my hit list now. This last humvee gave me some trouble all around. Just need the jerry cans on the back and will start priming.
