I'm building the Trumpeter 1/16 Sd.fz.182 King Tiger. I'd like to post pictures of my progress, and get some advice on painting, things to improve etc. This is such an interesting kit, I think people would enjoy seeing it.
However, I'm not one of the super modellers that usually do build logs. I plan to build this pretty much OOB. It's about as detailed as you could get, as is. I've seen pictures of someone adding lubrication lines and all sorts of wires. This stuff just gets hidden in the long run.
Can I do a build log? Or is that reserved for the experts? Should I post this in the advice forum?
How do I add pictures anyway?
Dave

Hi Dave,
Of course you can do a build log, most certainly not reserved for the experts (I'm proof of that!). You can do it in this forum, or in the Constructive Feedback forum...IMO you'll get more advice and answers to any questions in this one, but that's just me.
To add pictures, go Here for a quick tutorial on that.
Don't forget, when you start your build, check the Blog box when you start your thread. Looking forward to it!

Hi Dave. Of course you should do a blog.
Have you seen the site devoted to this kit? : AFV Modeller :: Trumpeter Tiger 2 :: A build & info resource!
Also see Hasse Göranssons blog on the Assembly
If anybody want loads of extra details ... its already available, but a pure OOB build would be as interesting in many ways, as well. You don´t have to be an expert to have a blog ... every point of view is of interest. Focus on good images of the pieces, and document any pitfalls you see/come across. Looking forward to it.

Thank you, those are very helpful sites. My biggest problem has been finding references for how the interior should be painted. That's mostly non-existestent or confusing in the instructions. I'll try and start my log tomorrow, with pictures. I've already made some progress, but obviously need some help withthe paint scheme.

I'm not saying that you have to compete with the hardcore modellers, but you should be aware that Trumpeter messed up the ammunition racks such that if you build OOB, the turret won't go all the way around.

I did see one build log where the guy said he rebuilt all the racks. However, he didn't say exactly what he did to fix them.
Has anyone posted a "how to fix it" article?
I'll try test fitting with white glue or some thing first.
I have a feeling I am many moons from getting there though. This is a huge kit. Unfortunately, I have a day job to pay for this kind of indulgence that interferes with my hobby time..

Dave, right click on your image to get the 'Address', which for the first one you tried should be....

add that between the image tags and you'll get this.....

OK, I got these tiny little pictures. How did you get the large one?
Is this easier if I upload to this site's picture area? Picasa and Google make it so easy to make an album though.
