This kit of the modern US 101st Airborne (in Iraq 2003) contains a part (B1-1) for each figure. It appears to be a large pouch (for clothing?) that attaches to the rear of the body.
Can anybody identify this part?
And is it used with the current Army Combat Uniform? My references suggest not.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Andrew,
That should be a standard MOLLE (MOdular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) butt pack. It is not for specific item or equipment.

Thanks James and Paul for the information (and the speedy replies). You learn something new every day. I will now add a pack to one of a pair of figures I am making.
