Even though the progress pics were in the general forum, now that vehicle is complete, I felt it should be in its proper home. This is the 1/72 Dragon kit with steel crates for the 28CM rockets. They were crazy hard to do, being ¼ x ¼ x 1 inch and 17 parts, and look “straight”. Makes me a little woozy just thinking about it . So I put one on and the rest will be stacked covered waiting to be mounted.
The only improvements I made are a couple of gear shift levers and the widths indicators and mirror The mirror was made by gluing a piece from a 100 calorie snack pack to a piece of .005 sheet styrene with the shiny side up and punching out a tiny disk. The last pic is the beginning of the base.
Comments and criticisms always welcome.

Turned out absolutely fantastic, Marc. Considering how "busy" the model is you did a great job on the weathering. I particularly like those scratches along the right front hood side. They are subtle but add to the overall effect. It definitely could be mistaken for a much larger scale. The suspension looks great but in the pictures the track guide horns appear a little too uniform in colour (some bare metal wearing around the edges?). I doubt mine would turn out anything close to this build.
Cheers,
Jan

Thanks very much milvehfan. MM enamels all the way around. The dk yellow is lightened with white and Italian sand about 65/25/10. the panzer green was unchanged. Wndosr oils for a dot filter, white raw umber and raw sienna.

Fantastic model, I really like the logs chained to the front. I will have to try that on a future model.

Excellent job Mark. There is no way you can tell that is 1/72 by the finish. Great paint and weathering job and I like the log bundle on the front.

Hi Marc. This could almost pass for a 1/35 vehicle. Looks great.
The bundle of twigs on the front bonnet looks particularily good ... great detail, that was seen a lot

Marc,
you sure did a splendid job on this one!!
Very well done. The bundle of sticks really finishes it off!
You do realize that you have a tricky job on your hand, in finding and painting figures to an equal standard, don't you?

Marc,
A very outstanding build and job on both the paint scheme and weathering. Looks so true to scale for such a very small and tiny model. Dedication to the max.
Marc I just have to ask? Are your fingers still cramped from handeling all of the many small parts that it took to put together the rocket crates? And can you still see?
Thanks for sharing your build and hoping to see more of your stuff here. . . nice pics too!

I echo the above sentiments. Great looking model. Can't wait to see it on the finished base.

Eddy, Charles... thanks for the nice comments.
As far as my hands and eyes.... I can finally pick up a cup of coffee again and I can almost focus on a spot that is more than 12 inches from my face

Thanks AJ.
The base is finished. and I am calling this one done. Really a dio now that I am calling
"The Uneasy Calm"
A few of the branches, from a craft brrom I got at Michael's, are cut from others and glued on the basic shape. As long as I was playing with sticks, I gave one of the guys looking at the map a pointer.

Marc, positively phenomenal diorama for the scale. The tree is great and the ground cover superb and far beyond my current abilities (read: JEALOUS). Thanks for sharing this build.

Hey, but you nailed this one!!
Very well done!
Maybe add a little foilage to the tree and some green to the ground?
That would really finish this one off. But you did create a great diorama.
