I certainly have an interest in books relating to this hobby. Be it reference or history.

I do have interest in book reviews, and I think your idea is great.
But I think we already have a book review on the main page, and if you´d like to send a review, just send them to the review editor (I think i´t´s Bryan = Tin _Can).
But I also know that a forum would make the things simplier...

I think this is a good idea, I am not sure if it is a big enough topic to warrant it's own forum, but I think it is a good idea since it is kind of hard to know when someone is talking about reference materials or history books or whatnot and it gets shuffled into the junk drawer.
