Hi people!
I was puzzled in another forum when somebody told that the the Rommel´s GREIF, his personal sdkfz 250/3 used in North Africa, had the written GREIF on the left side: Red with white outline, and on the right side of the vehicle, only white outline, does somebody could certify it to me? It´s not commom, I know, so it´s my doubt.
Any help will be very welcomed!
Cheers

That does seem to be the case, judging by two photos I've found. They are both in an old copy of Schutzenpanzerwagen in Action by S/S (you may judge how old by the fact it is #2 in the series). In the full r/h side view it is clear that the original grey is visable under the G & F, while the other letters have the sand background. the shot from the l/h side clearly shows the letters filled in with a diferent colour.

(BTW, both images can also be found of the AFV Interiors site, while it is still up)

Hi ukgeoff,
Thanks for the help, another thing, do you know, by any chance, what is the color of the interior? German Grey or Sand (Brown)?

Sorry Paulo, I've got no definite answer to your second question. It could be either one, as it seems to have had sand applied over an original grey coat.

Hi,
Paulo, I will send you an article about GREIF that had been published at a site that I think it's no longer active. It have no answer to your question but may be it's useful for you.
