It took 6 months of researching and doing the build. The tank, figures, personal gear and the base are accurate and actually depict individual Marines on the March up to Bagdad on D+9. The tank is B-24 "Carnivore" commanded by Silver Star recipient GSGT Nick Popaditch USMC (ret). The location is Afak Iraq in front of a war memorial on the main road through town. The inspiration to build this diorama came from the book "Gunny Pop" wrote last year called "Once a Marine". Much thanks to my friends, Mike Mummey and Nick Popaditch. All that is left is the frame, plaque and dust cover.
Enough said, here it is;

Thanks Cory,
There may be a chance that some pictures and/or an article may wind up in one of the International model magazines. I have having some professional pictures taken so I will post more later.
again thanks for your comments.

Howdy Rob,
The base is from a company that went out of business several years ago. I sprinkled grit, kitty liter sand etc. over the entire base and made the pavement using an asphalt paint that came from Woodland Scenics, sprayed, weathered, pigmented and did about 7 washes. I even set it in the sun for 2 weeks.
That's about it. again thanks.

Mike,
EXCELLENT Diorama! Please let us know what magazine your dio is published in.
In the pitcure that shows the left hand side of the turret, it appears that the rear end of the Tow Cable has come loose and is hanging down.
Great work!!

Great Dio, fantastic figures. Seems some of them are from MIG and Alpine...?
Could you tell more about the figures, please? Are some of them conversions by yourself?
I really love the driver and the TC with binocular!
