Since I have never served for any length of time on an M1a2, especially one in the field, I have a few questions...
I am doing an M1a2 w/ the 4th ID in Iraq...the year is not important, but lets say the generic tank would be serving from within the past few years.
1). Does anyone have any pics of a CITV up close? I have no idea what the lens looks like, it looks just plain black to me, but I have only seen them from a distance.
2). Do I use the bustle rack extension?
3). Do they use the APU or that internal battery thing? How should I configure the back deck?
4). Does anyone have any pics of 4th ID tanks in the field? Either stateside or overseas?
That should be it for now, thanks ahead of time for any responses.

For questions 1 and 4, Prime Portal has lots of pictures.
For #2 and #3, it depends. Are you building an M1A2 SEP, or a standard M1A2?
If it s an M1A2 SEP, yes, you should use the BRE and no on the bustle rack APU. SEPs all came with the BRE and have an internal APU or a Hawker Battery System that stores extra power. Most SEPs have been converted to Hawker Battery Systems since about 2006 or so.
A standard M1A2 may or may not have the BRE and will have the external, bustle rack APU.

Cool, thanks...one other question. The instructions say to put a charging handle on the .50 cal. Is this correct? Or is it supposed to be setup like an a1?
