Hello!
The US (10th Mountain specifically) operated a large Tracked vehicle in cold-weather climates. I think Trumpeter and Dragon released models of it in 1/35 a year or two ago.
Can anyone kindly remind me what that thing was called so I buy one of em? ; )
Thanks!

I think that you are looking for a Weasel. There was an early version with the square nose used in WWII and a later one with the rounded nose added for more buoyancy as used by the French in Indochina and I believe b the USMC in Korea. Monogram had a kit of the latter version issued many many years ago. It was later repopped as a fictitious US Army or USMC Viet Nam war version. There might be a resin version.
The First Special Service Force was issued with some for the planned operation in Norway, and kept some for logistics use in Italy and Southern France. The Weasel was used in the Normandy Campaign and also in the ill fated Hurtgen Forest Battle. It was also used by the USMC in Iwo Jima or Okinawa.
Hope that this is of some use.
Best wishes,
Grant

The Weasel is the more-famous of the two, but the Allis-Chalmers M7 (designated the T26E4) was also a popular choice and is highlighted in the new Ampersand book Allies-Axis #23.

Bill and Grant are right. The M4 High Speed Tractor was an all-around artillery tractor -- not like the M29 Weasel which was specifically built for snow-bound missions. Of course, its utility in other environments was soon recognized and it became a nice amphibian. This would be a very welcome modern kit in injection plastic.
