Either I am a sucker for info, or I am just plain gullible. I tried to fit a "certain part" on the rear hull of my M3A3, only to discover that -
1. Not only I cannot move the turret anymore, but this "certain part" pulls the turret up and over almost 0.125 inches when I try to!!!
2. I have only seen this "certain part" from others, and it's not their fault. I cannot expect true results for a REAL M3A3.
So, I question it. Honestly, the feature of that "certain part" would clash with both the M2A3 and M3A3 - no big difference there.
3. There are no dimensions, or aspect ratio, or even a reach-around to comfort my mind with this. Just an ugly One-sided reference:
4. The lame and crude wannabe diagram does not show what the other side looks like - again, lame and unreliable info.
BUILDERS BEWARE!!!

A little more info would be helpful to help you fix the issue. Being all cryptic because you are pissed off that you got some perceived bad advice won't get the piece fixed.

Okay
I have the Tamiya M2A2 ODS kit NO.132. I have been gathering parts for this kit for three years, and I am an Iraq vet.
Never saw that "certain part" on my vehicle. The part in question is that queer long flange along the LH side of the "new" model. I made it just like the plans and it rakes my turret. Lame.
here's what blows my mind - never saw it 2 years ago on my track - and it just makes no sense at all:

Obviously you meant that armor pice on the left of the rear deck. It's the only thing that could foul the turret.
Rest assured that that particular piece does in fact exist. I think you might be able to see it in my build log. I did not use that drawing but instead photos I took of the piece. From them I was able to get a very good feel for the height of the piece, where it begins, where it ends, etc. Just keep alteering it slightly until you have enough clearance.
That piece is essentially another piece of shot trap armor protecting the area underneath the turret from that angle. There's no need to have it along the back as the hatch is as good a barrier as anything else.

Ok just for you my friend I'm going to pop some over the top views and some up-close photos so you can see my scratch building hull plate. The images will be with the turret on and with out it. Ka

Ok here's the photos I told you about. Before shot trap armor.
that "certain part" will not fit if you make it to tall.
