The M30 Cargo Carrier (Ammo Carrier) was the compainon to the M12 GMC. Seems hard to find pictures of this beast?
Thanks

This is one of those long sought after but hard to find vehicles.
About the only thing I could suggest is to perhaps get your hands on the Fujimi 1/76 kit and have a look.? Or even harder still, find the old Bandai 1/48 kit.

I bet the R.P. Hunnicutt Sherman book has photos of it, but it will be as hard to find as the Bandai kit. And 20 times as much.
IIRC the M-30 is based on the M-12 which in turn is based on the M-3 Lee. I've got the 1/48 scale M-12 HMC by Bandai in an Academy box.

Someone mentioned the Hunnicutt book relative to finding interior photos of the M30 Ammo Carier. Well . . . . FYI. The Patton Museum Library at Ft. Knox used to be the holder of Hunnicutt's original research papers for the Sherman book. (and others) We are talking six to ten LARGE 3-ring binders of notes, photos and manuscrips of all his research.
So . . . if you now find yourself anywhere near Ft. Benning, GA and are lucky enough to discover under what rock the US Army has seen fit to deposit the Patton archives, you might get lucky enough to find the holy grail!

I’ve found surprisingly detailed pictures in Squadron books.
Perhaps try ‘US Self Propelled Guns In Action’. I've heard that there's a mention of the M12 in there so you might get lucky and see the M30 as well.
I don’t have a copy of this book and therefore can’t say exactly what’s in it but for $10 it’s worth a shot…

D.P. Dyer's plans from many moons ago are available through Military Modelling Magazine's website. http://www.myhobbystore.co.uk/product/29277/ml117-cargo-carrier-m30
They are decent plans to work from.
