Hi Gang,just a quick question concerning the lav - for the benefit of the terminally stoopid,whats the thing on the lower front hull ?.
Is it some sort of fold-down dozer blade or is it merely bolted-on armour ?.
Anyone.......Bueller......?

I think you are describing the trim vane that gets deployed for deep water crossing.

Define LAV.

It may be a trim vane, or as you said it may also be bolt on armour. Depends which LAV variant your talking about.

Sounds like it could also be the "obstacle blade" on some Strykers
