Indeed excellent buildings. When you make them do you use reference materials or just do it using your imagination?

Thank you for you kind words,
I use a combination of imagination and reference materials. In these case I have take some different buildings from different sites and I combine in one scene.
Internet is plenty of reference materials about old buildings, specially of turn of century in France. I find one websites with more 12.500 post cards of towns, and these is only one website, have more
cheers

Nice building. I like the arcitectural flare of it.
One thing I would like to see to get a better feel is a reference point - a figure included - just to get a better idea of scale and sizing.

The techniques look good. Keep us posted on the painting.

Hello Penkala,
These building is a carboard structure, the wood is balsa and the rest is cork, and stones are bits of cork sanded and glued one by one.
Cork is a material very versatile, depend the grade of sanding you can reproduce different textures.

cheers
