i have just purchased one of these myself. and intend to do it up as the newer style. i've started the model off by detailing the inside of the turret myself.

i was in the USA ARMY and worked on these as my job so if you have any questions about these let me know. i was wondering if you had any progress on your model?

glad to see one of these finished . all the ones i've found on the net have been about half done. then no updates and no responses. i like how you got around having to scratch the interiors, very inventive. i'm planning on opening all of my interiors up and detailing them.

BTW in your search for reference you by chance didn't come across pics of the back for the inside of the turret did you? it's the wall where the tube between the missile pods is and the controls for the newer ecu/ppu. i for the life of me can't find any reference shots of that wall. i have reference of everything else, and ten years between working on the actual system and now have severly faded my memory of exactly how it looked.

once again amazing work.

that's a great one!! it's the latest generation of ecu/ppu. the ones that were installed on the avenger around 2000/2001. i was stationed at ft. bliss at the training center for the operators when we got ours.(second unit in the world to have them) that pic will get me going though. that will give me the correlation of most of the components. i'll have to keep looking and see if i can find a shot of the ecu/ppu controls.

BTW have you thought of using the tin foil wrapper on the inside of cigarette packs to simulate the threads in canvas better than the veil material?? i found that after you paint it OD green it looks just like scale canvas to me. i don't have a pic of the seat i just made for mine up on the net just yet(still on really slow dial up) but as soon as i can i'll show you what i mean. and thanks a million for the reference pic. i've been searching out avenger pics for about 3 months and haven't came across that one.
