Does anyone know if the following bell towers are similar to those that are in the Normandy area. Might a German sniper hide in one of these towers?

I tried to clean up the links in your post, but no joy. Try linking directly to the album. There seems to be a limit on linking directly to photos in MSN albums.

How about this

and

I can't say for certain if they are from the correct area. They certainly 'look' like the could be and as far as a sniper getting in one - No doubt. Go for the high ground.

Sarge59, it seems that only one of the three links leads to a valid page. Could you check the URL?.

They look a bit like Greek or Italian towers...or am I wrong here ? Just guessing ...I've seen those things on TV...never been to Italy nor Greece myself, so don't give too much value to my guessing

The plan was to have a German Sniper in one of these towers. They are both local churches, the latter I belong to.

He would be sitting in the tower with a rifle (mauser) and maybe a couple of grenades, and the American half-track would be rolling down the road with infanty behind it.

Thats why I asked if these were the type found over there.

Thanks!
