Probably this is M-733 carrier. Used by marines in Vietnam. M-733 be used also by "A" troop 3/4th cavalry 25th Infantry Division "Tropic Lightning".

Thanks for your reply, but I think you're wrong. The M733 (based on the M116 Husky chassis) is a bigger, M113-size vehicle :
Taiwanese M733 :

M116 Husky :
 '63 M116 Husky Amphibious, Tracked Cargo Carrier
Both were tried out by the USMC in Vietnam but never saw extensive use there...

According to Shelby Stanton's Vietnam Order of Battle book it is an XM571 1-ton payload utility articulated vehicle (Canadair)
There is a different phot of the same vehicle in your second photo which is stated as belonging to 3rd Squadron, 4th Cavalry at Long Binh, Jan 1969.
