Hi Tony,

Thanks, still a little work to do to finish them off, not quite finished painting everything.

The mortar being resin is quite delicate, so needs careful handling, but that's the same with all resin stuff. It's a straight forward build of the tube, bipod and base plate. You need to add some handles that are quite fragile but they came off the plug with no problems. You also need to add the sight.

The bombs are neat and even have 2 small holes in each fin.

Need a little filler around a couple of the arms but that may just be down to the builder

but these looks great i recently had a picture of a parachute mortar team in a big ditch with some bushes this is actual picture of 6th parachute brigade if my mind serrves me correctly

Thanks, if I not mistaken that's the 1st Airborne guys in a shell hole at Arhhem:



Here's the matching pic: Troops are Cpl Jim McDowell, Pte Norman 'Jock' Knight (facing the camera) and Pte Ron 'Ginger' Tierney. They belonged to Lt Mike Holmans No 23 Mortar Pl (handcart jobs) of the 1st Borders. They were one of two mortar teams attached to C Company during the Arnhem campaign. The pic is taken south of Van Lennepweg and was taken by Sgt Smith one of the APU guys,

There are 3 very good pictures of the team and I would hazard a guess that they were the inspiraton for the set.

sorry for my mix up between 6th airborne and 1st airborne i have a tendancy to mix alot of things up lol

No worries, I do that all the time . It was those pics that got me interested in the set some years ago, but only just got around to doing something about it recently.

Hi Guys.

well less some personal weapons and dust on their boots and helmets these chaps are about done.

I dug out an old base I'm thinking of revamping for a generic photo base and put the troops on for fun.







I've been meaning to make a generic base for some time and although this one need a fair amount of work, it will probably do nicely.
