I know that this topic has been beaten to death, but I have a question that I seem to remember being answered here...
Someone mentioned a certain Gunze paint that appeared to work well for coloring the coating of modern optics, but that color was hard to get outside of Japan. For the life of me, I can't remember what it was, and my searches here have been fruitless.
Thanks in advance!
Floyd.

Hi
Have a look at the Vallejo rang of paints.
They have released a bluish colour for using on Periscope lenses.

That's what I was looking for, Nick!
You weren't too far off - it appears to be a paint marker, "Mr.COLOR MAZIORA 04 COSMO-COLLECTION", to be exact.
The big trick will be finding it, however. The only place I even found it mentioned was in a thread on a car model forum - dated in 2002
It's entirely possible that it could be OOP by now. >sigh<
Thanks for the info... let the search begin!!!
Floyd.
EDIT: Found something that -may- work!
Check this link:
http://www.spazstix.com/xcart/Color-Changing-Paint-c-371/
I was thinking the "COLOR CHANGE PAINT GOLD / ORANGE / PURPLE / RED" would be ideal. At $12 US for 2oz., not that bad (lifetime supply )

@ Marco-
Evidently, my Google-Fu failed me this time... Good find!
I've got it bookmarked in case my trip today to a local shop that has a good R/C car section doesn't pan out.
I haven't personally dealt with LuckyModel, but I've seen nothing but good things about their service.
Thanks again for the info, guys!

Something else ya might want to look at, is the clear films they sell in arts an craft shops, they are very thin an have the reflective qualities you see when looking at the optics on AFV's

i find that 2 drops (very small, though) of Model master clear red and 1 drop (very small, again) of model master flat black mixed together will get the job done nicely. Haven't tried with other brands, but I guess that as long as the colors are the same you are good to go.
