Just a really quick question, im building a dio in the setting of the ardennes offensive. im a little hung up on one thing though, i plan to include a fence along one of the edges with a gate, should the gate be metal tubing or a wood variant?
thanks

hi wes

hopefully im right here by saying for your question
the gates would be wooden as of most films ive seen and the odd picture a while back all fences and gates were wooden

heres is a video of band of brothers
with the ardennes part not the best quality but maybe you could see something in it in relation to ur dio

hope this helps

Wes, As far as Ardensse pictures go, the fences I have seen are wood or the typical stone from fields. All the gates I have seen are of wood. BUT, this does not mean there were no metal fences or gates, though Iv'e never seen one from that time period. Safest bet would be wood. hope this helps.

Hi

Considering the countryside around is known for it's forests and the usual method of construction for any area is to source locally available materials, for both availability and cost reasons I think you can't go far wrong with using wood
