White glue/pva glue? I use that with a boit of super glue.

White glue or two part epoxy.
I also will do a pin/hole support to help if the parts are heavy. Drill a hole in each side of the two pieces that can accept a piece of paper clip. Cut the paper clip to length. Insert before gluing.

Try Aleenes thick designer Tacky glue. At your L.H.S. or art supply like Franks.
