I'm desireous of building an M-60 tank collection. I have an A-3, modifications could make an A-1 and of course there is the A-2 as well as all the blazer, passive armor, and even Blade versions. The AVLB not withstanding, what about an M-60? Ever a kit made? Could I kitbash an M-48 A-5 (the 105mm gun version) or are the turret dimensions way out of whack?

I just won the CMD M-60 "Slick 60" resin turret off of Ebay for $12.57 + shipping a couple of months ago.
Very impressive casting and highly recommended if you can find one. I hear that AEF Designs (www.aefdesigns.com) makes one as well but its quality pales in comparison to the CMD one.

That's how I plan to do a 1/72 scale one. Using the Esci M60A1 and Esci M48A5.

Hey Blaster,
All you have to do is to go here and see a couple of shots of a "M-60". This baby is in a private collection.

Worked for me and got an award or two as part of an 1/72 M60 collection 10 or 11 yearsa ago.

Well, I'm doing it 35th scale, but I see I have two options that are both very workable, so I'll end up doing the cheapest. Allready put a bid on a cheap A-1 kit so now finding a cheap A-5 or getting one of those resin turets, Thanks guys for a quick response. Hey Rob, keep an eye out for an AVLB conversion kit at a reasonable price for me, you seem to find everything.

I built my M60 by kitbashing Tamiya M48A3 and M60A3, plus some Verlinden add-ons (resin turret). Here is the photo of it:
For more pictures go to my web site: http://vodnik.net (choose Galleries from main menu on top of the page and find the right one on the short list).
I built this model many years ago so it is not very detailed, but it looks like M60.
One note - if you are using M48 turret you should use some epoxy putty on the rear part of it, in the area "inside" the turret basket - M60 turret had different shape there. I didn't change it in my model however.
Regards,
Pawel
