I wonder about Hobby Lobby's marketing strategy. Normally, model kits at Hobby Lobby are priced a little higher than the other hobby shops in the area. Every now and then, they have a sale on model kits of 1/3 to 1/2 off. Naturally, I browse Hobby Lobby often but wait for a sale before I buy anything. Today, I noticed they have a 1/2 off sale. Naturally, I stocked up on kits. I bought a 1/35 Tamyia Sherman for $18.50 plus tax and a pair of Tamyia 1/48 WWII fighters for $12.50 each. I am naturally elated at this policy but wonder how Hobby Lobby expects to make any money at this.

Shhhhhh! Don't say that. Hobby Lobby is responsible for 95% of my model collection, not to mention my airbrush.

Where are you that they have their models on sale? I look at the website for their weekly specials and coupon EVERY week, just in case, and models weren't listed as being on sale this week.

It's really hard to beat that 1/2 off sale, I buy stuff I'm not even sure I like.
Almost got the 1/32 Hornet last time but figured that I would NEVER Finish (just like the 5 other 1/32 a/c in the basement)

As has been posted before, Hobby Lobby has GREAT buying power, and basically they set their own terms for the prices they pay. SO when they have the 1/2 off sale, theya re still making money, if you can believe it...just goes to show how you can cut prices when you buy 10,000 unit of something or so...

Also, you may notice that they do not carry LOTS of new stuff, or lots of armor in particular...they have to be able to set their own prices, so if they can;'t...too bad.
