I have been looking on the Accurate Armour website at their 1:35 model of the Oshkosh M1070 HET. Has anyone here had any experience with this model? Is it made of resin? The photos on the website look really good and I would like to try it although it is pretty expensive. Thanks for any help.

I do not have the kit, but I have several others of theirs including the Scammel transporter. Their kits are mainly resin, with some white metal and usually a fair amount of PE. I find the price to be worth it for any of their kits.

I recently finished the M1070 and the M1000 trailer. You can see it at the above link. It is a resin, white metal and brass kit. It is very nice and a long build! Soldering skills help; but are not required. You will have to cut your own windows and good reference material is a BIG help (Prime Portal has a LOT of HETs!). If you write to me, after you purchase one, I will send you Oshkosh's actual painting CAD patterns as PDFs. I also have a US Army Maintenance Guide for both and can steer you toward a good source for this material. Derek at Accurate Armour will lend a hand if you have specific questions about the Model. I suggest that you scratch build your own sideview mirrors.

Guys: Thank you very much for your help. I think that I will order this model and give it a shot. I recently finished the M1078 LMTV cargo truck. The M1070 appears to be more complicated but I am ready for a challenge.

The AA M1070 HETS is a very nice kit.
I have it but not yet finished. I also have built the UK M1070F (same truck) and the kit is accurate and not so difficult to build.

Hi,
I also build this model. Now have very good price because I pay some year back 1 000,-DM = 500,-EUR.
I think that model is excellent only wheels is no ready. Wheels have pattern firm Kormoran and name Michelin.
But this model is very nice and English version is superb.

I'll echo what everyone else is saying. It is a great model. I built it for a customer a few years ago. You can see it at my Showcase below.

Hello friend:
I have it for two months, up to the date I have not got with, only I have seen it on having plucked the pieces if someone was missing and it paints that it has it is phenomenal, the resin is perfect, practically without air bubbles and the small pieces they can separate without difficulty.
Under my point of view I would say that it is a maqueton and as we say in my ground brilliant.
He sent to you a cordial greeting,
Mon

I have been thinking about it a lot and I have always dreamed of doing one of these kits since I saw it when this amazing site started. But was scared off by never have done a resin kit and I recently have did one and it was hard but fun.
I am wondering if I broke a part when building the kit would AA send me just that part or would I be screwed and have to trash the kit and buy another whole kit which I think I could only buy one of these kits in my life time because of the price.
When I get ready to buy it I would greatly appreciate it if I could get as much help as I could because I would be scared to death because I'm not and experienced resin person.Or should I gain a little more resin kit experienced first before I try and do this monster kit.
Is there any where on the internet that shows the kit in pieces so I can see what I am getting my self into.
Happy Modeling

Hi all,
am I mistaking but isn`t there a rumor that HobbyBoss is working on The M1070/M1000 combo. I think the kit won`t cost the fortune of 500 EUR. Otherwise, I can highly recommend the AA kit.

Hello:
With AA there is no problem if you lack, one breaks you or what is that it happens to you with a piece, you send to them a mail and they restore it to you without problems. It is of the best thing that there is in this industry with difference.
500 euros are not the price, it is less enough.
Greetings,
Mon

If this is true, that will make my day.
I would really like to have one, but the price from AA is currently out of my range.

It is not just a rumor. I asked GAOYUE in one of his posts here about that and he replied that Hobbyboss is indeed working on it. But God knows when it will be released. I would love to get one, too!
