EDIT: Added some pictures of M106 alpine trainig at the bottom, including a night exercise.
Hi all!
Here are some Pictures of last weeks artillery training at 1900 meters in the alps. These are the Swiss upgraded M109. M109 KAWEST is their official designation. They have a Swiss 155mm L47 gun, a new navigation system and new storage at the back of the turret for charges (among other things). I used to command one of these but am now platoon sergeant of the supply platoon.
I have all the necessary parts and a walk around to build one of these if I ever get to it...
Any comments or questions welcome!
Cheers!

Seb, yeah, there was a group of tourists who were really interested in our M548 when we loaded them up on the restaurant's parking lot... When were you in Switzerland? Or are you an emigrated Swiss?

Hi folks!
An ex-army mate brought some pics over yesterday of my February 2007 repetition course, when I was still in an M106 unit (they don't have these anymore nowadays). This time it was in one of the far away valleys of the Canton of Grisons (Graubünden). Don't want to keep some spectaular pics from you so here goes:
We had huge amounts of snow that winter:
Swiss Army developped Eagle reconnaissance armored car (supposedly based on the Humvee):
Mowag Piranha 8x8:
And the most spectacular of the night shooting:
Thanks for looking! Cheerio!

Hey Stefan, what happened to the pics?
Well... Space limitations in my kitmaker-photo account... And the thread seemed to have died away. Maybe I should put them back?

Hi Stefan, thank you for the images.
Space-limitations on the photo-account? Yes, we have only 10 MBytes here.
But if you like, you can make a free account a photobucket or other online-storage.
Free members have "only" 500MBytes and the -better ones- have 2 Gbytes or so.
greetings...

For free accounts I'd recommend flickr...none of this bandwidth exceeded stuff and you get way more space...
just my 2˘
I'd love to see these pics though!
