I've got Tamiya's 1/35 M8 Greyhound coming in the mail for my next land based vehicle project and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for add-ons or extras?
I've seen resin tires with chains that looked pretty cool.

Verlinden do a couple of sets, The engine set, interior, stowage.
Resicast do a workable steering also.
Also you can get some PE sets just to Jazz it up I think Eduard do them.

This set is not complete either. Verlinden have a very nice set of outer stowage of the M8, including a winter tarp for the turret and opening for the machine gunner, that is not included here. I often thought this, with the fenders removed and a set of resin wheels and chains would be a very cool winter version. I have the TWS set which look very nice.
Resicasts little set to have a positionable stering is a nice touch ( I have this as well for my M20) but its not necessary to buy ... its a very simple conversion.

If you are a stickler for accuracy, I read - I can't remember where - that the wheels are too small, so they need replacements.

No, that's the Italeri M8 kit. It was based on a surviving vehicle in Italy, which used smaller tires than wartime US vehicles. You can get aftermarket resin wheels and tires with winter chains that solve the problem. The Tamiya kit is okay.

I like the Verlinden set with the cab details so it would look good with hatches open. There are a couple on eBay but I don't know if I want to wait for them. I'm itching to start it on what is going to be a cold, wet weekend in North NJ.
Maybe if soccer is canceled on Saturday I'll take my son down to the show in Runnemeade and a vendor will have one...hmmmm...

Besides all the add on kits there are always scratch items such as the antennas or if you make your own decals the inside of the turret ring has direction markingsso the gunner. The Osprey book has a good picture of it.
