Been gone for a while due to moving, not sure if anyone missed me or not ! It's taken me a few months to get a work area set up again.
Expanding my horizons into modern armor and was wondering if anyone could give me some ref book ideas as to what are really good book titles for modelling Marine Corps ODS, and OIF vehicles might be.
Thanks and regards, Ed

ODS USMC:
Verlinden Warmachines: No 13 "On the road to Kuwait; Marines in the Gulf"
Concord publications: "Sword in the Sand"
OIF USMC:
Concord: "MARINES ON THE GROUND - OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM 1"
Concord: "Special Ops: Journal of the Elite Forces & SWAT Units Vol.27"
Concord: "Special Ops: Journal of the Elite Forces & SWAT Units Vol.26"
The Special Ops books have clearer pics than the Marines on the Ground book.
See also the Concord publications website for more info.
Hope that helps.

You'll have to do some digging and work on your search terms but they are free.
Example using "marines desert storm" gives you 42 pages to look through:

The ultimate reference for USMC Armor during ODS and OIF would be to have Mike Mummey, taped to a chair, in your modeling room. He would beat any of the above mentioned books for amount of sheer knowledge as well as having some outstanding war stories to round out the "geekiness".

I dunno... That would be the ultimate reference, but I think securing the reference material would be a bit more excitement than most people would be up for.

Well John, "tank" you for the vote of confidence. Ya know I try my best. Ed everyone has given you some great references to seek out or browse through online. Once you nail down which type vehicle and which conflict I can better help you out with the colors, markings.and equipment. And please no being taped to a chair again, just bring a six pack and we are good to go! Outta here, Mike sends . . .

MIke,
I am here for you... I would have recommended the 6 pack and bourbon or scotch. After that, the tape could be broken out.

I'd like to say thanks, I'm in the process of getting some of the ref books suggested. I appreciate the offer Mike, when I narrow down the vehicle I'd like to do, I'll get with you via pm. This is a new venture for me and I love a challenge. Kraut armor is my normal forte and I just need to branch out!
Thanks again guys!!
