Ah that takes me back! I remember building an Airfix arado float plane when I was a kid. It became a real favourite of mine and I wouldn't mind doing another one some day. What are you planning for the dio? I have seen some stunning float plane dios, they can be really characterful. But then I'm biased, I love float planes !

Sounds lovely. Don't know why but the image of a kid fishing from the jetty just flashed into my mind . I saw a beautiful dio a while back of a Japanese floatplane pulled up on a tropical beach. The best thing about it was the way the modeller had poured the clearcast resin in about four layers of 2 or 3mm. The bottom layer was pigmented blue slightly and the other layers on top were progressively clearer which gave a fantastic depth effect. It looked so real.

Good so far, I'll be interested to see how you make the jetty.

Oh did anyone else catch that documentary on TV the other day about all the wrecks of the Aussie floatplanes that the Japanese sank at Broome bay during the war? It was really interesting.
