I intend to build a pre-war (1940) M2 halftrack using the Dragon Kit
I have come across the following hurdles.
1. All the after market wheel people make replacement wheels for this kit, however the are all the later pattern wheel and tire, anyone do the early wheel and tire ?
2. The only Browning M1917 have have found is in the Tamiya US Gun and Mortar Team set (35068), which is well, kind of old ! Any one do a state of the art version of this gun. I can find many kits for the later M1919 gun but for some reason nothing for the M1917, a gun used from WW1 thru to Vietnam !
3. Anyone do the pre-war Star with a Red background and a Blue circle in the center ?
4. I am not that up on figures, so beg my ignorance, I also need some M1917 pattern helmets, all the figure kits I have seen use the M1 helmet.
Thanks
Ian

Hussar makes early pattern directional wheels: http://www.perthmilitarymodelling.com/reviews/vehicles/hussar/hussar35054.html

You're going to have to use British ones as there aren't any pre/early war U.S. figures out.

Thanks for the guidance.
With the Hussar part number, I managed to track down someone in the USA that actually lists it on their website.
The Masterbox M1917 looks to have a far more potential than the Tamiya part.
Question is, who in the USA stocks this brand in depth, all searches lead to hobby stores in the Ukraine
Archer does the operation Torch Stars which have the blue backgrounded star, but not the red backgrounded pre-war star.
The helmets in Dragon's British sets look to be a good starting point.
Thanks again

Great Models Webstore and Dragon USA Online both carry the Master Box line, but that particular kit is on back order at both stores.

Another option for a M1917 is the one from Collector's Brass :
