Anyone concerned about their public emails be farmed by those wishing to send junk or virus emails can rest a little easier. I have added some scripting that forbids the display of these public emails (the one you ok to be shown on the site). Now it will only show up for other signed-in users. Obviously a determined person can still harvest emails this way but it's less likely now with the more automated junk email gathering applications. Hopefully this little step will mean less junk mail for you in future.

Also, I have been contacted by some people who have had some difficulties with using the forum. I have asked for details from this user, but in the mean time I wanted to ask if anyone else had issues trying to use the forum. I know the "post a new topic" function can be a little tricky, but if there is something else that needs some work please let me know.

Thanks,
Jim

Jim,

I'd like to salute and thank you for all your hard work on this site.
No wonder it's the best damn modeling website out there.

I agree completely. :-)

Every once in awhile, clicking on the smiley's or the "quick bbcode" buttons does nothing. This happens to me at work and at home.

BC,
I have noted that too. More precisely the BBcode stuff only seems to work on the original email (not when you use edit function) and if you try to go up and add a link the BBcode text will actually appear at the bottom of the page.

Not sure why the smiley's don't always work either.

Thanks for sharing this. I doubt I will be able to fix those issues though as the code that drives that stuff is a little beyond me.

No problems from here on Dagobah, Jim! To paraphrase TheGame, 'You do a great job on the site, no wonder it's the best gosh darn site on the web!' :-)

Thanks for the added difficulty feature for the email harvesters! After the virus Klenz or whatever it was, I started wondering where the individual got my email, but since it seems only a couple of us got it...I doubt it came from here...who knows.
Thanks again Jim.
PS No problems here with the forums, home or work. :-)
