I see MB forgot to issue water bottles (& bayonets ) to the Scots in their new set . (Didn't MB's Japenese set also lack canteens or was it messkits )? I seem to remember some of Dragon's British kits were also lacking. Does anybody make sets of infantry web gear ?It would be nice to have some extras in the parts box. While some combat photos show troops with minimal personal gear , (vehicle crews maybe?) a lot of show troops weighted down with gear. ( D-day) . The QM would like to issue all allied troops full kit,.. bayonets included. Any sets that you know of ,.plastic or resin ? Thks Jim

Hi Jim,
The cheapest route I've found is the Tamiya British Infantry set as you get 2 spures of kit for the troops. Personaly I like the Tamiya kit.
Resicast do a set of kit but I've never seen it so can't comment.

Given that Tamiya have released their weapons and gear sprues for US troops and both early and late war German troops, we can only hope they have the business sense to do the same with their very excellent British weapons and gear sprue.
The webbing gear is, IMHO, far superior to anything else on the market. The webbing provided by Dragon, for instance, is execrable in comparison - poorly rendered, out of scale, softly detailed, etc.
We can only hope.

Somewhere (Prob Osprey British infantry Equipments by Chappel) years ago I read that the Water Bottle was also supposed to be stored within the Small pack(Haversack) in Certain orders of Uniform.

Thanks for the info guys. I will pickup the T - Brit set . Always a big fan of Tamiya. And yes it would be nice if they released a brit equip. set and maybe a russian one since they've got some new heavey weapons team (mg &anti tank ) out sometime soon. Won't hold my breath though... Jim
