Hi folks,
Well with Italeri, AFV Club and now Bronco offering the 40mm Bofors what chance do you think there is of a QLB to tow it??????
About time we had a new 1/35 plastic British truck

Hey Al,
A tow vehicle of some sort would make sense !!
Hopefully Tamiya or Italeri will get the "British" ball rolling with updates of the FAT's.
Tamiya would be smart to upscale their Tilly a'la the Citroein.
Cheers

Hi john,
Italeri have missed the boat on the Bedfords for years, I haven't seen any indication that that will change. Tamiya have alwasy had a limited range of British vehicles and did nothing with the Carriers or Churchills, so I wouldn't hold out any hope there either.
Whilst a Tamiya truck or re-tooled FAT would be nice I rather see someone like AFV Club or Bronco take up the lead. MasterBox and Vulcan would also be possibles.
Always living in hope.

We can always hope. Tamiya did pre plan their JS 2 so they could release the JS 152. Some of their older kits had hints of upgrades / other versions (t-54 or 55 had some parts on the sprue but not on the plans) Doesn't the Matilda have extra parts as well with no info in the kit about them. A lend-lease version ,on the horizon maybe ? And did'.t they up scale the citrone ? Got enough to build till they get it together. Jim

Hey Jim,
It makes sense for kit manufacturers to fully utilize a chassis, Tamiya's planning a ISU-152 from the IS-2M Stalin is a no brainer, an ISU-122 or an early IS-85 or IS-2 being other possibilities.
Their new Matilda is obviously tooled for at least one variant, there's indications of extra turret ring armour (Australian versions ??).
The kit includes a low profile cupola, another style of 2pdr barrel and a 3" Close Support howitzer barrel not mentioned in the instructions.
Hopefully they won't compromise accuracy to get the maximum out of the molds.

Hey Al,
More British and Commonwealth trucks are most welcome, especially the Bedford and CMP versions.
Being the new boy on the block, Vulcan might be the one to take the bit between the teeth and produce something unusual.
Here's hoping !!

Yea it,s nice that Tamiya thought about other versions of the Stalin kit. Pity the cast nose wasn't seperate so they could do an early KV style . Just think if the Centurian had this style two piece hull ,we could have had a BARV. lol We should just be thankfull that they and other model companies are producing new kits. Jim

Hi John & Jim,
Yip Tamiya did a grand job with the Matilda, no question. From the British and Commonwealth side we have had a bumper 18 months and more to come.
Not complaining at all, just hoping for a new British truck or two in plastic to add the icing to the cake lol, lol.
