Hello
Today I found this picture of hmmwv in Iraq. Can somebody tell me something more about this "strange
modification" on the back?
Thank You for help, Chris from Poland

Chris,
Looks like a "home-made" drop-in armored box. Appears the back hatch was removed to make room for the box. Military contractors like the former "Blackwater" used those kind of armored boxes in the back of pickup trucks.
Looking at the uniforms and helmets, they could be contractors (mercenaries), Iraqi Commandoes, or a service other than US Army. It is hard to tell with just single photo.
Hope that helps.
Jeff

These are Polish SF. I recall we already had a thread discussing this picture, but I can't find it. Anyway, here're the other pictures.

€dit: Sorry, I can't help with any more than just remembering the other thread. Maybe a fellow user has the link to the thread where it was discussed more deeply.
Cheers
