Aloha everyone!!!

Recently I pulled out an old Tamiya M-60A1 kit (the one with the reactive armor) from the garage and having not purchased the Tamiya M-60A3 when I had the chance I wanted to know how hard would it to be to covert the A1 to an A3 version. I see this kits seems to include what would appear to be parts from the A3 kit. I know manufactures sometimes do this. If so can someone who had the A3 kit call out those parts I need to make this A1 an A3 variant. Whew! Sorry for being so confusing!

Thank you in advance!!

Look for the barrel with the thermal covers, the wind sensor, the right side turret sight with the cover, and I think the gunner's sight cover that is slightly rounded on top.

I think that should do it.

The M60A3 also had top-loading air cleaners as opposed to the side-loading type of the A1.

Let me know if you need any of these parts. I have most of a Revell (reboxed Esci) M60A3 that I used the hull on for an M60A2.

Jason,
We call those "thermal covers" on the M60A3 "thermal shrouds"... Like the davenport vs a couch/chesterfield v. sofa... Two countries seperated by a common language.

Be aware that there are several other changes to make the Marine M60A1 into a M60A3, you will need to move the smoke grenade launcher reload boxes from the air cleaners to the turret as well as moving the tow cables from the engine deck to the lower rear of the turret. There might be some tweaks for the front slope of the hull... Will check when I get home from work.

If you have the Tamiya M60A1 with the reactive armor like you say you do, you have everything you need to make the Tamiya M60A3TTS kit except for the decals. The Marine A1 kit is the Tamiya A3 kit with a few new sprues and updated road wheels (the Tamiya A3 kit included the old, original A1 road wheels).

Most, most appreciative everyone. Thank you all for the clarification. Oh-by the way I know Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Iran ( not sure if they used the A3 version) are some of the primary Middle East users of the M-60A3 but does anyone have any pictures or know if these countries ever added reactive armor to their vehicles? That is-with the exception of the M-60 2000 upgrade that Turkey did. Thanks again...
