Hi All
Can anyone tell me if all Jagdpanthers had the extra armour plates down the sides covering the top of the tracks?I have here the Tamiya JagdPanther (kit no 35069) and fancy adding these plates.Some idea of dimensions in 1:35 scale would be greatly appreciated too.
happy modelling
Peter

My only Jagdpanther is the Academy 1/25 scale kit. It comes with side skirt (shutzen?) armor. I'd give the dimensions, but they are the wrong scale. Perhaps someone with a 1/35 scale kit has some that they can measure for you.

Peter,
I checked my two favorite sources. German encyclopedia of Germany tanks does not show the side shields on the early ones and as an option on the later versions. The link may also provide some info for you.

Peter;
First the good news, the schürzen are 19mm x 35mm. The bad news, I think 35069 is the old out-of-scale Tamiya kit and these dimensions may not work. I would suggest cutting cardboard templates out first and check-fit before wasting good plastic. Rob, the same comment applies to your 1/25th kit. Academy just pantographed up the Tamiya kit with all the same mistakes in scale and proportion.

The width of the lower hull should be 52mm and the length of the lower hull plate from the bottom of the lower front plate to the bottom of the rear plate should be 144mm.
